John Obi Mikel is set to return to the Premier League. This is not a drill.
Mikel is a cult hero at Stamford Bridge. He wasn’t the most talented of players, but he did his job efficiently. He was a true professional.
The time came for him to depart and play regular first-team football for the remainder of his career, but he lives on in the memory of the Chelsea faithful.
Something you’ll all be delighted to hear is that we could be going head-to-head with the Nigerian come next season. At least that’s what ESPN believe.
The report claims that Mikel has multiple offers to return to the Premier League, with the veteran weighing his options before making a final decision.
It’s excellent to see that there’s been life after Chelsea for him, because there wasn’t for many of the players he played alongside.
Let’s just hope his once-in-a-blue-moon goal doesn’t come at the Bridge!
